Santa Fé is a wonderful place to live and to visit, and in the fall there are many activities for people of all ages to enjoy. Here are some of the sweet October events in Santa Fé.

1. Harvest Festival at El Rancho de las Golondrinas

On Oct. 1 and 2, you can visit El Rancho de las Golondrinas and help bring in the harvest. This living history museum located on Los Pinos Road in Santa Fe was once a ranch but is now a museum that displays the history and culture of New Mexico. At the Harvest Festival, you can crush grapes for wine, make tortillas, and bake fresh bread.

2. Santa Fe Independent Film Festival

This five-day event brings together filmmakers of all kinds. See up to 100 films from all different genres, including documentaries, feature films, and shorts. There are workshops, panel discussions, and exhibitions, along with parties for guests to enjoy. Get an all-access pass and see all the films you want, or just see a few films over the course of the event.

3. Historic Canyon Paint Out

This annual tradition occurs on the third Saturday in October every year. Hundreds of artists bring their crafting tools to Canyon Road to create new pieces en plein air. Watch the artists create their masterpieces and talk with them about the process.

Santa Fe offers many cultural events throughout October. There are many galleries and visual arts showcasing the rich history of the area. It is also one of the largest art markets in the United States.
