FireworksSanta Fe is the capital of New Mexico, and is well-known for its Pueblo-style architecture. It is a designated UNESCO Creative City in Design, Crafts, and Folk Art. Santa Fe has a high concentration of artists who have gravitated there over the years to capture the breathtaking landscape. The city itself is small, but there is a lot to do, see, and experience, and it is well worth a visit. These are a few events coming up this summer.

July 4th Pancakes on the Plaza

This is one of Santa Fe’s favorite yearly events and has activities such as silent auctions, arts and crafts shows, and children’s contests. The delicious pancake breakfast and vintage car show are among the highlights of the day.

Viva Mexico Celebration

This two-day festival takes place July 16 and 17, and it celebrates the culture, cuisine, and crafts of Mexico. It takes place at El Rancho de las Golondrinas, a living history museum dedicated to the history, heritage, and culture of 18th and 19th century New Mexico.

The Maverick Cookbook Walking Tour

Hosted by cookbook author and radio personality Lynn Cline, this tour takes you through downtown Santa Fe, introducing you to stories about famous people and places that have influenced New Mexico’s cuisine. Summer dates for this tour are July 7 and 21, and August 4.

Santa Fe, with its strong Spanish influence, is a great place to visit. There are many opportunities to learn about this city, and these events are a great start.
