Family FunSanta Fe is a great place to be in the summer due to all the festivals and events. Here are three events you need to check out.

Santa Fe International Folk Art Market

Mid-July on Museum Hill

More than 150 artists participate in the Santa Fe International Folk Art Market. People gather from all over the world to come buy art, enjoy great music, and try delicious food. Many artists take the money they earn at the festival and donate it to schools, medical facilities, and other efforts that strengthen their communities.

Santa Fe Indian Market

August at the Santa Fe Plaza

The Santa Fe Indian Market is so big that it draws more than 150,000 visitors each year. For the past 92 years, native artists have been selling their artwork at this festival. One of the best parts is that you can go and meet the artists in person.

Santa Fe Fiesta

Early September all over Santa Fe

To end the summer season, Santa Fe celebrates with a massive Fiesta. It is one of the oldest community events in the country and dates back to 1712. It is a celebration of Native American culture and Spanish and Western traditions. One of the biggest spectacles is the burning of a huge paper marionette called the “Zozobra.” It’s supposed to rid everyone of their worries. There is music, art, parades, food, and more to enjoy at the Santa Fe Fiesta.

No matter what time you visit Santa Fe during the summer, something will be happening. The city hosts festivals practically every week from June to September.
