The Four Friendliest Dog Parks in Santa Fe

July 15th, 2016 by

DogIt’s important to give your dog some space to run and play and interact with other dogs. If you are in the Santa Fe area, here are some of the friendliest dog parks where you can bring your dog.

Frank Ortiz Dog Park

This is the official dog park in Santa Fe, located at 1160 Camino De Las Crucitas. It has an off-leash area where you can let your dog play with other dogs.

Santa Fe Animal Shelter and Humane Society

Not many people know about the large fenced-in areas on the grounds of the Humane Society on Caja Del Rio Road. These two off-leash areas for dogs are good places to socialize your pooch.

Samantha’s Park of Small Dogs

This is a separate area at the Humane Society for dogs under 30 pounds. It sits across the driveway entrance leading to the park for larger dogs. The shelter staff asks that you only stay at the park for 30 minutes if there are others waiting to get in, and it is open from dawn to dusk.

State Capitol Grounds

Dogs are welcome on the grounds of the State Capitol while on a leash. This is a great place for dog-walking to get some exercise for both you and your pet.

If your dog needs a place to get out and enjoy the beautiful Santa Fe weather, these friendly dog parks are just what you need. Make sure to pick up after your dogs and keep them leashed until they get in.
